A képzés célja: 
A grafikus olyan vizuális és rajzi kultúrával rendelkező kreatív szakember, aki a grafika különböző szakterületein (képgrafika, alkalmazott grafika) önálló véleményalkotásra, esztétikai és szakmai feladatok igényes megoldására alkalmas. Tervvázlatokat készít és azok variációit, majd kivitelezi a munkát, figyelembe véve a mai korra jellemző piaci igényeket, a megrendelők által támasztott követelményeket, illetve a kivitelezés szervezésének szakmai kritériumait. Munkája során a számítógépes grafikai programok ismeretét és idegen nyelv tudását felhasználja. Széleskörű művészeti és művészettörténeti ismeretekkel rendelkezik, amelyek képessé teszik alkotói feladatok megoldására Az alkalmazott és művészi grafika területén, egyéni szemléletű, kifejező képi eszközök használatára törekszik. Tudása alapján alkalmas tanulmányai folytatására a különböző művészeti főiskolákon, egyetemeken
