Introduction
Forrai Secondary School and Institute of Higher Education
Forrai School admits students aged 14-22.
- Forrai Bilingual Secondary School (a fee-paying secondary school for students aged 14-19)
Prospective students can choose from two classes: class A specializes in English and class B in Computer Studies. In both classes students receive extensive training in English (class A has 1500 English lessons during the 5 years and class B has 1300 lessons). A number of school subjects are also taught in English, e.g Computer Studies, Geography and Environmental Studies, English Civilization, Media Studies and PE.
The secondary school years are a formative period in a young person's life. It is during this time that young people learn to integrate into the intricate texture of society and acquire the skills necessary to solve human conflicts and personal crises besides developing their self-esteem, self-reliance and empathy.
We firmly believe that a very high standard of knowledge in both in English and computer literacy is essential in our rapidly changing world so special emphasis is laid on these skills. We hope that our graduates will be able to meet the demanding requirements of further education and the labour market.
- Vocational courses for post-secondary students
For students aged 18-22 we offer supplementary post-secondary courses in the fields of Computer Science, Communication and Business Administration. Most of our courses are non-university vocational higher education courses which are supported by the academic guidance of prestigious tertiary education institutions. Students under 22 without a vocational qualification do not pay a tuition fee.
We offer day-time and evening courses for the following professions:
- Legal Assistant (a joint training course with Eötvös Loránd University, Faculty of Law)
- Public Relations Assistant (a joint training course with Eötvös Loránd University, Education and Psychology Faculty)
- EU Business Administrator and Head of Secretariat ( a joint training course with the College of International and Business Studies of the Budapest Business School)
The school also offers intermediate vocational courses for the following professions:
- IT Manager
- Head of Secretariat
- Assistant Stylist
- Marketing and Advertising Assistant
Students under 22 without a vocational qualification do not pay a tuition fee.
In our vocational training our aim is to provide students with well-founded practical and professional knowledge which they can use to their advantage in their further studies, in their career and in everyday life.. From the start, our motto has been the following: high quality training - a prestigious, well-sought after vocation. In practice it means that we concentrate on vocations that are in demand in the labour market and, whenever necessary, we also help our graduates find employment.
We are proud of the teaching traditions of the school, which was founded in 1939 by the Forrai family. In 1952 Forrai School was nationalized. The founders' daughter, Rege Forrai reopened the school in 1991 with a reformed educational programme.
Classes are held in an attractive environment. Our staff is made up of devoted and qualified teachers.
